CHERRY BELLE Radish

An excellent cooler weather variety forshort season climates. Champion is a bright red, crisp, round radishwith large tops. A good choice for early or late plantings. Popular foreating fresh, in salads or for garnishes. 28 days to maturity.

Special Directions for Short Season Climates

SOWING:
Seed directly into vegetable garden anytime soil is workable fromMarch to September. Cover seeds with 1/4 inch light soil, spacing seeds1 to 1 1/2 inches apart.

THINNING AND SPACING:
Once seedlings are established thin to 1 1/2 to 2 inches apart.Leave 6 to 12 inches between rows or plant 2 inches apart in alldirections in wide rows.

GERMINATION:
Approximately 1 week. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Treat soil with safe insecticide to protect from root insects orsow seed where radishes or cabbage had not been grown the previousyear. Protect seedbed from new infestation with cheese cloth oragricultural netting strung above plants. Plant in a mostly sunny spotin a moderately rich soil kept fairly well watered. For continualharvest, plant radishes every 2 or 3 weeks during the cooler parts ofthe growing season.
